2009 EVENT DETAILS

This years DWCC Randonnee takes place on Sunday 20th September.
Similar to last year, the start/finish will be in St Michaels House, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9, with sign on between 8am - 9am.

There will be two routes to choose from (80km & 140km) and both routes will be marked and sign posted. Maps will also be provided.
Enjoy cycling the quiet back roads of North County Dublin, Louth and Meath where you will pass by the historical sites of the Battle of the Boyne, King Williams Glen, Slane Castle, Newgrange and slip through the sleepy villages of Bellewstown, Ardcath and Garristown before returning back to St Michaels House where refreshments will be provided for riders completing each route and certificates will be awarded.

For those riding the 140km route, there will be a tea stop at the midway point in Stackallan Tennis Club House.

Entry fee is E15.
(For non Cycling Ireland/IVCA members a one day CI Licence must be purchased at a cost of E10)

Helmets must be worn!

Please note that this event is not a race or a sportive. Randonnees are a test of endurance, self-sufficiency and bicycle touring skills.

All proceeds go to St Michaels House.

Noel, John & Co,

Unfortunately I'll be unable to ride this year Sad, as I'll recovering from some surgery but I'd like to offer up my services and give you a dig out in anyway I can on the day if there's a need.

Thx Paul - the real mechanical difficulty was in the legs - they wouldn't pump fast enough Wink

Well done Wez in the 2-day at the weekend. Would have been a contender except for a TT mechanical difficulty.

Typical us Wheelers upsetting The Boyne Valley Manor House security systems, mind you swords did it too!

Enjoyed the BotB run. Had some delusion it might be the de-scheduled club randonnee. The political theory discussion was most illuminating; at 50km/h downhill I hear "in his seminal 1994 paper...

Not sure Rory but hoping to find out tomorrow. Maybe there will be a repeat of 1690, on bikes.

Another few years and the majority of CI members should be ready for the terminator. Who will ride the championships then?

02/09/2010 22:03
Consider yourself lucky Lenny, remember the film Logan's Run, where ya got bumped off when ya reached 30! At least CI allow you another 10 years before you are marked for termination.

Mr F that is a load of BS and there we are training like mad things for this our end of season classic. Lets do it.
