1. Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Dublin Wheelers Cycling Club will take place on Monday 27th November 2023 from 19:30-22:00.

Free car parking is available in the Recreation Centre car-park as well as the Artane Castle Shopping Centre car park.

2. AGM Motions

Members are invited to propose motions for consideration by the AGM. These should be emailed to secretary@dublinwheelers.com, and must arrive on or before Monday, 13th November.

A list of motions for consideration by the AGM will be circulated a week beforehand (approx.).


3. Election of Committee

Proposals are invited for the following committee positions (current office holders in brackets):

· Chairperson (Brian Carolan*)

· General Secretary (Anurag Garg*)

· Treasurer (Ray Scanlon)

· Racing Secretary (Martin McGonagle)

· Touring Secretary (Rory Flynn*)

· Assistant Secretary - Membership (Donal McGuirk*)

· Communications Officer (Vacant)

· Two Ordinary Committee members: (Cleo Harvey*, Danielle Travers).

The committee members whose names are marked with an asterisk have indicated that they will not seek re-election to their current roles.

Members are strongly encouraged to email details of nominations to secretary@dublinwheelers.com to arrive on or before Monday, 13th with the names of both the proposer and seconder. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor of the meeting.


4. Club Constitution

A motion to adopt a new club constitution will be proposed at this AGM. Details of the motion will be circulated shortly.

To facilitate scrutiny of what will be a lengthy motion, the committee has arranged the following:

An informal briefing on the proposed new constitution on Mon 20-Nov @ 19:30 (venue TBA)
A 'stand-by' date of Wed 29-Nov @ 19:30 to reconvene the AGM in case the deliberations are so lengthy, that the AGM has to be adjourned and reconvened.

Members' attention is also drawn to the following:

Article 6 of the current club constitution stipulates that "a 2/3 majority of those present shall be required" to change the club constitution.

Article 9 of the current club constitution makes it impractical to adopt a new constitution by means of Special General Meeting (SGM), since the quorum requirement for an SGM is "at least one third of the voting membership".
